On September 10, 2025, Charlie Kirk, founder and president of Turning Point USA, was assassinated during a campus event at Utah Valley University. Jesus, have mercy on our country.
Our team and supporters along with millions around the country are mourning for Charlie’s family, dear wife and two small children.
"[Charlie] never used violence, but was threatened every day with violence by those who couldn't contend with logic and truth, and now they have done to my friend what evil always does - it takes away life.
Charlie did not die however, but instead he has begun to truly live. His life was secured eternally by his Savior Jesus Christ. This truth allowed Charlie to face every threat with courage because he didn't fear death. All evil knows is death and derives power from death. Charlie lived for life and will be remembered for this." - Charlie's Pastor, Rob RoyCharlie's Pastor, Rob McCoy
Charlie Kirk was truly remarkable in the way he leveraged our First Amendment free speech rights to influence change. He went to the very places of most contentious disagreement to engage in honest conversation, open minds, soften hearts, and plant seeds of understanding that might one day bear fruit of real change in this country.
Charlie Kirk pointed a generation of young Americans to love our nation, and – more importantly – to follow Jesus. His response to attacks and criticisms was to foster open and free dialogue with those who most disagreed with him.
Like Charlie did with amazing courage, we will continue to stand on the eternal word of Jesus, and the freedoms that have allowed so many Americans to prosper.
Many from across the political spectrum expressed horror at the tragedy of what they recognized to be political violence. We have also seen the seething, hate-filled reactions from those who despise what Charlie stood for. Yes, the evil and rage is real and active. But evil has not prevailed – and it will not win.
The attempts to intimidate are thwarted in our own resolve to anchor Truth in our hearts, advance it with courage at every opportunity, and pass it on to the rising generation – no matter the cost.
We don’t understand it, but I know God’s character. I know He will redeem the pain and bring forth something powerful, life giving, and beautiful. We may not see it for years, but He will do it.
The question is, how do we respond; how do we honor Charlie’s legacy?
If you’re feeling a shift inside of you, like a fire that’s in your bones, pray every day for God to direct your paths (Proverbs 3:5-6).
Reject apathy. Reject fear.
Plug into a community of people who will pray with and sharpen you.
Resolve to win the battle in your own mind and heart. Let your resolve to study God’s Word, obey it and live it with courage be what God uses to change everyone around you.
In other words – Be like Charlie.
My heart is broken, yet invigorated; like being shocked with electric paddles to reset a rhythmic, unashamed and unabashed commitment of shining the Light of Jesus in this dark world.
On this Day of Remembrance of the 9/11 tragedy, I have hope – because I know there is no other remedy to the evil in our world, But Jesus.
