Leg Update no. 2

Legalized killing of the most vulnerable in our state.

That has been the main topic of discussion for our legislators, even before the February legislative break had officially ended.

We need your attention this week like never before. There are five major bills in circulation – four being heard this Tuesday and Wednesday – and your voice is needed on each one!

With so much at stake, our legislators need our prayers more than ever. They also need to hear from us—those they represent—encouraging them to stand for life, for families, and for truth.

Legislative Review

Oppose These Bills!

🔴 House Bill 140, which would legalize assisted suicide, is scheduled for a full House Floor vote on Tuesday, March 18th. It only needs a simple majority—21 votes—to pass.

🔴 House Bill 14 is the second of two Constitutional Amendments that would enshrine abortion as a right in the Delaware Constitution. The first Amendment, Senate Bill 5, is framed as “reproductive freedom.” HB 14 is framed as a “right to privacy” – the same language used in the Supreme Court case Roe v. Wade.

HB 14 will be heard in Committee this Wednesday, March 19th.

🔴 Senate Bill 5 passed the Senate last week by the required 2/3 majority vote, and will be scheduled soon to be heard in a House Committee.

Support These Bills!

Legislators are pushing back on this agenda of death with bills that we can support! They are the Sand in the Gears! 🙌🏼

House Bill 46 would require parental consent for minors under 16 seeking an abortion. Currently, Delaware only requires parental notification within 24 hours. The comments on this bill will reveal much about whether our legislators are committed to protecting a parent’s right to the care of their children.

HB 46 will be heard in Committee this Wednesday, March 19th.

Senate Bill 55 – the SAFE Act – would protect vulnerable minors from the irreversible harms of gender transition procedures. The SAFE Act affirms the truth of God’s design and the protection of children.

The SAFE Act will be heard in Committee this Wednesday, March 19th.
